"Learning to swim is an essential skill and an excellent way to develop self confidence."

I have been teaching children and adults how to swim since 1980. Originally trained in adaptive swim instruction, I have experience teaching those with a wide range of confidence levels, physical abilities and/or learning differences. I firmly believe that anyone who is motivated to do so can learn to swim.
Helping non-swimmers gain the skills to become independent swimmers gives me great pleasure. Water safety is an integral part of every lesson.

According to the CDC, there is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in a well-chlorinated pool. However, I wear a mask while teaching and practice social distancing whenever possible. I teach from the deck and if I need to enter the water to demonstrate a skill, I will do so and then return to the deck.
